Tenure track open positions at National University of Singapore

The National University of Singapore (NUS) is a leading research-intensive university (http://nus.edu.sg/) that is consistently ranked among the world’s top universities. The Department of Psychology at NUS (http://www.fas.nus.edu.sg/psy/) has well-established undergraduate, graduate research and graduate clinical psychology professional training programmes. The department consists of an internationally diverse group of faculty members who are committed to excellence in research and teaching.

We seek applicants for two positions to join us either in August 2019 (preferred) or in January 2020. The positions are preferably tenure track, but applications for the educator track (teaching-focused) will also be considered. Rank of appointment is open, although junior appointments (i.e. Assistant Professors) are preferred. Area of specialization is also open, although we strongly encourage and will prioritize suitable applicants in Biological Psychology or Clinical Psychology.

All successful applicants must have a PhD degree in psychology or an equivalent doctorate-level qualification in clinical psychology (e.g., DClinPsy, ClinPsyD) by the time of appointment. For tenure-track applications, post-doctoral experience and a proven or strongly emerging track record of high quality research and impactful publications, alongside clear research plans, are highly desirable. For educator-track applications, teaching and/or supervision experience, and evidence of excellence in teaching, are highly desirable.

Remuneration is competitive and includes medical, housing, relocation and other benefits. Significant research start-up funding is available if appointed on the tenure track.

  • • [For tenure-track applications only] A research statement (max. 3 pages) highlighting major accomplishments and short- and longer-term research plans, citing up to five significant publications, creative works or other scholarly contributions, and explaining their significance.
  • • [For tenure-track applications only] Sample copies of research publications, if available.
  • • [For tenure-track applications only] Please indicate total number of publications to date, citation analysis (excluding self-citations), and impact factors of journals where the publications appeared.
  • • [For senior appointments (i.e., Associate Professor or above) only] A list of 6 external referees (names, contact details, applicant’s relationship to them). These referees should preferably not be close collaborators or the applicant’s PhD/post-doc supervisor.
