EAWOP LETTER TO FULL MEMBERS AND CONSTITUENTS - General Assembly 2023
26.04.2023
INVITATION
EAWOP GENERAL ASSEMBLY
18.00 MAY 25thH 2023, Auditorium
Dear Member / Constituent Member,
The next EAWOP General Assembly (GA) will be held during the EAWOP 2023 Congress in Katowice on Thursday 25th May, at 18.00 in the Auditorium. The GA is composed of the representatives of Constituents (member associations) and the Full Members of EAWOP. The GA is the highest authority within EAWOP. It decides on all the main issues of policy, elects the President and the members of the Executive Committee (EC), sets the rates of memberships fees and decides on the Statutes and Rules of EAWOP. All types of members receive services from EAWOP (Journals, website access, etc.), but the statutes give voting rights only to Full Members and representatives of Full Constituents. The proposed agenda for the GA meeting will be available here and can be viewed after log-in to the EAWOP website with your membership details (http://www.eawop.org/ga-2023).
Elections
There will also be elections to the EC to replace retiring members. There is one vacancy for president and two vacancies for ordinary EC members. A call for candidates has been sent to members. We have one candidate for president and six candidates for the two vacancies for ordinary members. CVs of all the candidates will be available on our website: here and can be viewed after log-in to the EAWOP website with your membership details (http://www.eawop.org/ga-2023).
The candidate for the post of president is:

Voting Arrangements
Full Members (including Full Constituent members) who attend the GA may vote in person and the voting will be conducted electronically.
To attend the GA and to vote it is necessary that members register before the start of the GA. We would encourage members to register BEFORE the start of the conference.
Details on how to register for the GA and to vote can be found here:
https://forms.gle/CifoA1Ey5ZX92JscA
There will also be a registration desk outside the Auditorium for one hour before the start of the General Assembly to help members register to attend the GA and to vote. Registration to vote will not be possible once the GA has started.
Our current statutes permit a member who does not attend to delegate their vote to another member with voting rights. A single member can vote on behalf of no more than two other members. If you cannot attend and would like to delegate your vote to another member, you must send a signed letter stating the following: "I grant power of attorney to cast my vote to...". A scanned version of this letter must be sent to the Administrative Secretary by e-mail ([email protected]) before the 22nd of May 2023. You must ensure that your membership fees have been paid to have voting rights at the GA. If you are not registered for the EAWOP Congress in Katowice you can check when your membership expires and pay for your renewal fees at the EAWOP website. The resgistration for the full EAWOP Katowice Congress includes two years of EAWOP membership and allow voting rights in two General Assemblies (Katowice 2023 and the Virtual General Assembly in 2024) for those eligible for full membership.
Reports
A report of activities and a financial report will be presented to the GA. Copies of these documents will be available here and can be viewed after log-in to the EAWOP website with your membership details (http://www.eawop.org/ga-2023).
We have been working closely with the conference organizers and are looking forward to an excellent conference with a packed and stimulating program of events. We hope to see you at the GA and that you enjoy the EAWOP Congress in Katowice. Warm regards on behalf of EC members,
